Born as the third generation of a knitwear manufacturer, I grew up surrounded by colorful knits from young age. After graduating from art school, I became a designer and spent over thirty years involved in planning at apparel companies and our own factory, sending many knits to both domestic and international markets. I have also been working as an illustrator since my twenties.  I started painting after retiring from my job at the manufacturer.

 

I would be delighted if I could create something that warmly envelops people, just like knit products. My cat, who lives with me, often appears in my works.

ニットメーカーの3代目に生まれ、幼少の頃よりカラフルなニットの中で育ちました。美大卒業後は大手アパレルのデザイナーとなり、その後自社でたくさんの企業のニット製品を国内外に送り出しました。 時間が出来たら絵を描きたいと思い始め、仕事引退後から少しずつ始めています。

 

それは自分への励ましだったり安らぎだったり… 心の中に現れた心象風景、美しい自然界と共生する私達に授けられた、メッセージみたいなものが届けられたら嬉しいです。
